Job Overview:
- The BCP Architect for Telecom Network Security will be responsible for ensuring the security of telecommunications networks through the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of all necessary security operations. This role will work closely with IT, CIO teams, and external cybersecurity experts to embed new security processes and ensure that networks and telecoms projects adhere to security best practices. The BCP Architect will also collaborate with the central cybersecurity SOC (Security Operations Center) to address emerging threats and incidents, with a focus on security by design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Deliver Security Operations:
Develop and execute necessary security operations to protect telecommunications networks, ensuring they meet industry standards and organizational requirements for network security and resilience.
- Collaborate with IT and CIO Teams:
Work in partnership with IT teams, CIO, and other stakeholders to integrate new security processes, procedures, and tools into the telecoms networks, ensuring alignment with business continuity and cybersecurity goals.
- Support Network and Telecoms Projects:
Support all networks and telecommunications projects to ensure the integration of "security by design" principles. Collaborate with project teams to incorporate necessary security measures from the outset.
- Work with Cybersecurity Operations Teams:
Collaborate with central cybersecurity SOC and other cybersecurity specialists to address security issues, implement security initiatives, and respond to emerging threats and incidents impacting telecom network security.
- Monitor and Respond to Security Threats:
Continuously monitor the evolving cyber threat landscape and proactively contribute to the design and execution of appropriate defenses and response plans.
- Implement IT/OT Security Standards:
Ensure compliance with IT/OT security standards and frameworks, such as NIST, IEC 62443, and other relevant IT and OT regulatory standards, in the context of telecoms network security.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of work experience in telecom IT, network security, or cybersecurity operations.
- Security Knowledge:
Solid understanding of security technologies, tools, methods, and frameworks used to protect complex telecommunications and network infrastructures.
- Infrastructure Knowledge:
Knowledge of modern network infrastructures, operating systems, data management technologies, and application architectures in the context of security.
- Cyber Threat Landscape Awareness:
Strong ability to research, analyze, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the global cyber threat landscape, understanding how it impacts telecom networks.
- Security Standards & Frameworks:
In-depth knowledge of NIST, IEC 62443, and other industry-recognized IT/OT security standards. Experience implementing or working to IT/OT security frameworks.
- Regulatory Knowledge:
Familiarity with IT/OT regulatory and industry security standards and the ability to ensure compliance within telecommunications networks.
Bonus Skills & Experience:
- OT Security Qualifications:
Additional qualifications or certifications in Operational Technology (OT) security are a plus.
- Security Policy Development:
Experience in developing security policies, standards, and procedures for the protection of telecommunications networks.
- Threat Intelligence & Vulnerability Management:
Familiarity with threat intelligence platforms, vulnerability assessment methodologies, identity management systems, and incident response procedures.
- Incident Response Expertise:
Experience in managing or participating in security incident response, particularly within network security environment
